I’ve always been interested in how food can affect oxygen levels in the body. I’ve found some interesting research. This is all anecdotal evidence, but my experience has been that eating healthy food like fruits and veggies can help you get more oxygen in your blood, and it feels good. I also read something about the link between eating high-oxidation foods and aging.
One of the easiest ways to raise your oxygen levels is to eat foods that have a high water content. The main source of water in most fruits and vegetables is the water in the cells themselves. Foods with a higher water content are usually foods that grow in the wild, such as mushrooms, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Another common way to get more oxygen into your body is to drink a lot of water. Drinking lots of water has the side effect of making you feel full. I’ve found that if I drink a glass of water right after eating, then I’ll feel fuller and my blood sugar will be less likely to drop.
Another interesting thing that I’ve found is that eating foods rich in antioxidants, like blueberries, can actually increase your blood’s ability to carry oxygen. It’s all anecdotal evidence, but I have noticed that when I eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, my hands and feet feel more oxygenated.
I’m not saying that you should eat a ton of fruit and vegetables every day. You don’t want to eat a diet of only fruit and vegetables, because that’s a low-calorie diet. But eating a small handful of high-water content, high-antioxidant foods each day can help you feel better and give you the oxygen boost you need.
